SCOIR: Management Platform
High Tech High North County utilizes SCOIR (pronounced "score"), a comprehensive college and career management platform which supports students and families confidently navigate the process of searching for and applying to colleges. SCOIR, in partnership with HTHNC provides a streamlined, user-friendly experience that supports students throughout their high school journey, ensuring they are prepared for life after graduation.
Introduced through ninth grade Pathways class, SCOIR introduces students to a myriad of new tools that allows them the space for reflection about their interests and what they may want to pursue in the future. This reflection creates a foundation for students to build on as they begin thinking and developing their post secondary plans.
In 10th Grade, students begin to create a profile, track their volunteer experiences and service hours, extracurricular activities, and awards/honors within SCOIR. By maintaining a detailed and organized record of their achievements, students can utilize the platform as a reference as they create professional résumés suitable for extracurricular programs, internships, jobs, and so much more. Additionally, students utilize this program in order to begin building a list of colleges that they may want to learn more about.
As an HTHNC 11th grader, SCOIR’s Admissions Intelligence feature becomes an important resource. Drawing on High Tech High North County alumni, local, and national data, SCOIR assists students in building a balanced and personalized college list that aligns with their academic profiles, interests, and preferences. This ensures students approach their college search strategically, considering a wide range of institutions that match their aspirations.
In 12th grade at HTHNC, SCOIR simplifies the college application process by allowing students to link directly to all major college applications through the platform. High Tech High schools use SCOIR to submit all supporting documents, such as transcripts, recommendation letters, and school reports, ensuring that applications are thorough, accurate, and submitted on time. During their senior year, students also track their college applications and admissions decisions through SCOIR, staying organized and informed as they navigate this critical stage.
