College Trips
High Tech High North County’s College Tour Programs are a cornerstone of our commitment to equipping students with the experiences and insights they need to make informed decisions about their higher education journey. At HTHNC, every student will engage with a college campus by senior year, making these tours a signature element of our college-going culture.
Beginning as early as 9th grade, students engage in College Day class visits. During these tours, students connect with HTHNC alumni, attend college lectures, explore academic majors, experience campus dining, tour dormitories, and gain invaluable insights into student life. Thanks to family donations, school funding, and philanthropic support, these experiences are accessible to all students.
College tours continue throughout high school, allowing students to develop a nuanced understanding of what different campuses offer. By experiencing diverse environments, students gain clarity on their personal preferences and priorities. This comprehensive exposure helps students answer critical questions such as, “Do I want a big or small school?” and “Do I thrive in an urban setting or prefer a quieter campus?”
HTHNC’s College Tour Programs provide a strong foundation as students approach their college decisions. By visiting multiple campuses, students discover what each institution offers and learn to identify the best fit for their academic and personal growth. This hands-on approach ensures that when it’s time to choose a college, HTHNC graduates do so with competence, confidence, and a clear vision for their future.
